The Kingdom of Belgium is located in western Europe and has a population of approximately 10,000,000 people. The languages most heard in Belgium are Dutch and French. The capital (Brussels) is officially bilingual, but most of the inhabitants speak French. Brussels is also the capital of the European Union. Belgium, like other destinations in Europe, includes churches, town government buildings, and castles that have survived since the Middle Ages. Belgium has a wonderful reputation for good food, affordable housing, healthcare services, and education. Those who have moved to Belgium from other areas of the world are thankful to be living there. There is a very low poverty level, as well. Belgium is also internationally known for chocolate, and over 500 different beers that have originated from the country. Many sports are enjoyed in Belgium, including soccer and biking. Eddy Merckx from Belgium won five Tours de France. Belgium has also had two female tennis champions.
