Aracaju is the capital city of the Sergipe State of Brazil. It is located in the northeastern part of the country, about 350km north of Salvador. With a population of approximately 470,000 people, Aracaju represents a third of the entire state population. Sugar cane and petroleum are the main resources from this area. Aracaju is considered one of the prettiest coastlines in Brazil, and it is the main tourist attraction. The coastal front has a steady breeze which cools the atmosphere by a few degrees, making the temperature just right for the beach. Aracaju's coastline is a coastal front formed by eight other beaches. The greatest benefit is the total absence of rocks and the nice temperature, which makes the day at the beach enjoyable for all ages, including elderly and children. The price of food and drink is approximately a third of the cost of some of the other western countries, making holidays and retirement affordable in Aracaju. People are known for being friendly; and crime is low.
