Riga, Latvia has a population of approximately 750,000 people, and is the capital city of Latvia. Major attractions include the historic center that has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. Part of Riga's beauty is the amount of art nouveau architecture, comparable to some of the others found elsewhere in Europe. Other attractions include the Dome Cathedral, Riga Castle, and churches. Riga has several colleges and universities, as well as the Parliament. The President of the country also lives there. Riga has several transportation options including road and railroad, as well as an International airport. The population of Riga is roughly half Latvian and half Russian.
